We had such a great weekend! Friday night was laid back at home. Then Saturday was busy with several different activities. First I went to Lucas’ birthday party which was a Dr. Seuss extravaganza! That evening we went to a bonfire at my mom’s house. It was so much fun to see some friends that we don’t get to see very often. Then we headed over to the Darkwoods Insane Asylum…which was kind of like a haunted house. It’s safe to say that I was terrified. Especially since I was literally dragging Brent because I couldn’t get out of there fast enough!! The Pace High Drama did an outstanding job!!
Yesterday morning we drug ourselves out of bed and headed to church. It was a great service and we FINALLY joined Pine Terrace. I’m so glad to say that is our official church home now. We’ve been attending for over a year now but finally made it official yesterday morning. Our Sunday School connections class has been wonderful to us. We’ve made so many friends and couldn’t love our Sunday school teachers any more! So glad to be a part of that church family (officially ). We spent yesterday afternoon in town running a few errands (can’t wait to share about our Operation Christmas Child boxes) and then last night we decided to grill steak. It was so delicious that afterwards I just passed out from being so full and content (and completely and totally exhausted from our busy weekend). I woke up to Brent working on our shower in our bathroom. We finished those things up and headed to bed.
It was a busy, productive, wonderful, and fun weekend for us! As I was driving home from school this afternoon and thinking about the busy season ahead of us I was listening to this Natalie Grant song “Our Hope Endures.” and thinking about how appropriate that is for me and Brent. I was thinking about all that has went on over the course of the past year. Over the past year we’ve definitely felt like it would never “clear” up. Thank the Lord that our hope has remained though! Without Him that wouldn’t be possible! We still have so much hope and faith about what God’s plan for our future holds. It’s exciting and scary-all at the same time! Have an awesome week.
Here’s the video to “Our Hope Endures” by Natalie Grant! (I just can’t get enough of her!)
It’s been so nice to enjoy my coffee (with my delicious Souther Pecan Pie creamer), before this very full weekend is in full swing.
At the beginning of this past week I kept saying “This week feels like it’s never going to end.” We had a planning day at school Monday and the week just got off to a slow start but once it got going it seemed to just right by! It was Red Ribbon Week at school which made for some fun dress up day with Crazy Socks and then yesterday it was Team Jersey Day (I’m not sure if that was the exact name but you get the gist). The kids really enjoyed it and it is always good to spread the awareness about being drug free! Friday snuck up on me and I was running around last night like a chicken with my head cut off. Brent got off a little late, then my MIL and SIL came over with our niece, Addi, and we did some Origami Owl business. It was quite late when we hit the sack and then we were up early again this morning. We are having a little issue with our shower in our bathroom and someone came over to look at it this morning (at 6:30 AM-which is way too early for human interaction in my book). Come to find out it seems like it’ll be an easy fix. My friend Nikki’s sweet little boy has his first birthday party today and tonight we are going to a bonfire at my mom’s house. I hope to visit the Darkwood Insane Asylum tonight. It promises to be an awesome time! I don’t know if I can wrangle Brent into going though….we’ll see. Tomorrow our Sunday school class is constructing at box maze for the festival at church on Halloween. So that’s what the beginning of our afternoon will look like tomorrow. After that I think we will be working on our shower. No rest for the weary!
It was so nice to be able to relax this morning before beginning the weekend of busyness. I enjoyed drinking my coffee and reading the Bible and my Jesus Calling devotional. I woke up feeling like I just had all these things to do and I needed to get them done. I was reminded, yet again, to lean on Jesus and not try to carry the burden alone!
Also, I need to get my menu together for the upcoming week. I’d love to have some new soup recipes. I often make taco soup, chicken tortilla and potato soup but some new recipes that have been tried and true would be great to have to mix it up a little. The same ole, same ole gets…well, old. Please share if you have any soup recipe that you just LOVE.
I hope everyone has an awesome weekend! Whatever you’ve got going on-good or bad-remember to lean on Him and that you’re never walking alone!
